Israel to close British consulate in Jerusalem - Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar

 

Israel also intends to evict British representatives from the headquarters in Kiryat Gat and halt British participation in training Palestinian Authority forces in Ramallah, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced.

 "We are banning entry into Israel for 12 UK government officials and individuals involved in anti-Israel and antisemitic activities—those who deny the very existence of the State of Israel," the Israeli foreign minister added.

This move comes in response to London's decision to impose sanctions on goods from Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

 In turn, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich demanded the immediate expulsion of the British ambassador.
